The Smiling Tiger: The Psychopath In China

If I was wondering where psychopaths were in China, the reason is very simple: it is very difficult to find something related to psychopath browsing the Chinese web. In fact, you cannot use Google Translate, translate the word "psychopath" to Chinese (which by the way yield 精神病患者, Jīngshénbìng huànzhě), neither can you use Wikipedia and check the Chinese page for the psychopath entry, because there is no article available yet in this language. And even if there were it would "only" be a translation of the English article. ... [Lire la suite]

Fabulous Fab Case: Are Traders Starting To Feel Nervous?

Now that they see banks washing their hands of all the mess and transfering all the responsabilities to them, it appears some people start to feel anxious. How do I see this? In this article from Business Insider they try to defend what Fabrice Tourre did, to push responsabilities away from him, and even to say Fabrice Tourre attracted juror's sympathy. They are defending Fabrice Tourre and by extension themseves of course. They are less arrogant. They are starting to say people like them only executed orders.

Why Is Mosquito's Hum So Annoying?

The answer seems rather simple.   When a female mosquito enters your home, its purpose is to suck a few drops of your blood that it needs before it can develop eggs. If they don't eggs won't fully develop or even not develop at all.   Female mosquito would avoid your home if it could, it would spare them from being hunted, sprayed, poisoned with various chemical products, smashed against the wall. So they try to be as quiet and as invisible as they can.   The problem is mosquito is from far the deadliest creature... [Lire la suite]

China: Where Are Psychopaths?

It seems that, in China, the word "psychopath" (精神病患者) is not widely used. Neither are the words "sociopath", "antisocial disorder", "cluster B" nor all these personnality disorders that are widely used in the West. In fact, on Wikipedia, there is no entry for the word "psychopath" in Chinese, and if there were one, it would certainly be a translation from the article in English, so it would be no information about China. According to Martha Stout in her book "The Sociopath Next Door", (that I have not read yet but found a... [Lire la suite]

Brené Brown Ted Talk 2010, and the feeling of easiness

A few weeks ago I watched the TED talk 2010 of Brené Brown about the power of vulnerability. I was rather skeptical about her Ted talk. But indeed, because I was afraid of having missed something last time, I have listened to it once again just before writting this article (English is not my mother tongue). So. Brené Brown has spent the past ten years studying vulnerability, courage, authenticity, and shame (this is from her bio), and she divided the people she interviewed into: people who have a strong sense of... How and where to meet sociopaths and social predators

Most articles about sociopaths focus on how can one spot them and avoid them. I think I'm going to be among the first one to write an article on how to find and attract them, you never know, maybe are you keen on trying new experience or maybe are you eager to end your life earlier.   I think one of the most important things is to help sociopath to spot you. In general, predators seek week preys. For example, a lion will prefer to run after a weakened antelope rather than a healthy antelope, the energy sent is less. Therefore... [Lire la suite]

Thirst for Power => Unnecessary Misery

People usualy become skilled at what they love to do. People who love power become good at exerting power over others. Because people who are not specialy ambitious (like me) might think it's ok for rich to own 95% of the wealth and leave poors with only 5% as long as this 5% share is enough to make a decent living. But it doesn't work that way. If you feel satisfied with your life, if you don't need more than you already have, then how will people of power exert power on you? if even only 5% is enough for you to live happily? Then... the Krishnamurti's teaching

Jiddu Krishnamurti was a friend of David Bohm, Ruppert Sheldrake and Aldous Huxley. He spent his life giving conferences, questionning people on their relationship to the world, on their beliefs, nothing people argued with him was right. His best friends recorded his conferences, his dialogs, and made books out of them. They considered him as the world's Instructor. Something that should not be forgotten about Krishnamurti, is that he had a love affair with his best friend's wife. More precisely he was hosted for years by his best... [Lire la suite]
